Does My Child Need a Speech and Language Therapy Assessment?

Your child may benefit from a Speech and Language Therapy assessment if they are experiencing difficulties in the following areas:

What Happens During a Speech and Language Therapy Assessment?

Our speech and language assessments are tailored to suit the individual child's needs. During an assessment, a child's strengths and challenges are evaluated through formal, standardised assessments and/or through dynamic, interactive activities and play.

The therapist will also take the time to gain valuable information from parents and caregivers during the appointment and through questionnaires.

Understanding of words, sentences and instructions

Speech/Articulation Skills

How your child produces individual sounds and words

What Happens After an Assessment?

Following your assessment appointment, your Speech Pathologist will provide you with advice and recommendations. They will determine whether ongoing intervention is needed and advise on the frequency and type of therapy required.

A comprehensive report can be written upon request.
